1295. A Japanese lacquered wooden figure of Kannon Bosatsu, Muromachi/Momoyama period, 16th Century.
Standing in flowing gilded robes and with hands in abhaya mudra, the face and chest are lacquered a deep black brown and the face is framed by pendant ears. Height 35 cm.
