This camera was used by Sven Nykvist, among many films, on the set of Ingmar Bergman's "Sawdust and Tinsel," which was filmed at Grand Hotel 1953. The Arriflex was used as a dumb camera, and Sven Nykvist photographed interiors while Hilding Bladh stands as a photographer of the exterior limits.
Sven Nykvist later on got the camera for his 60th birthday 1982 by Ingmar Bergman. The gift also included a movie clap marked "Sven 1982 3 / 12".
Sven Nykvist writes himself about this camera in his book: "Then I got to keep the camera, but sold it cheaply to Ingmar Bergman when he formed his own company in the late sixties. I seem to remember that he got it for 5000. More than ten years later I got it back from Ingmar as a birthday present for my 60th birthday. It has been through a lot and still works well even today " (p. 40).
