Valuation day and lecture on March 19

A few young and hungry artists left Sweden for Paris in the 1910's and gathered around the revolutionary artist Henri Matisse.
His thoughts on colour and ideas of free and simple lines made a deep impression on the highly talented students Sigrid Hjertén, Isaac Grünewald and Leander Engström.
Swedish art would never be the same when they came back with their new, glowing palettes.

Anders Wahlgren, author of the book on Hjertén, curator of "Den stora färgskrällen" as well as "Carlsund" at Liljevalchs, director of the film about Isaac and Sigrid etc, speaks about the Matisse school and the Swedish artist colony.
