Classic sale, day 3: Golden times for silver
Record price for rococo candelabras and a ring sold for SEK 1 Million are two of this day´s highlights.
During 2011, no less than 69 objects have been sold at Bukowskis for more than SEK 1 Million - a record year for Bukowskis and the whole nordic auction market.
The set of four candlesticks, signed Jonas Thomasson-Ronander 1761 were estimated SEK 500 000 - 700 000 but the bidding raced and finally landed at SEK 1,22 Million. An extraordinary happening, not only regarding the quality and the beauty but also the price for silverware. The great result for the whole silver department demonstrates a renewed enthusiasm for the precious metal.
Altogether during this Classic sale, twelve objects have been sold for more than SEK 1 Million. Totally, until this moment, 69 works have touched this price. Tomorrow, the last day of the sale, is dedicated to orientalist decorative arts.
