August Strindberg (1849-1912)
Strindberg devoted himself to painting for a short period in his life, creating only a small number of works. Strindberg has been regarded as a highly fascinating and influential painter on account of his great sensitivity to the radical aesthetics of the time.

Today, Strindberg is one of Sweden’s internationally most highly-renowned artists, and one of the Swedish artists whose works are sold at the highest prices. His expressive landscapes and seascapes from Dalarö, Dornach, Paris and Stockholm are now generally acknowledged as significant in international art history. He is represented in many of the world’s finest art museums and prominent private collections.
