Swedish Masters Ruled the Day
Today’s Classic Sale was clearly dominated by Swedish Masters. The climax of the day was the exquisite small watercolour by Anders Zorn painted in Paris in 1892, which sold for SEK 15,260,000. The windswept birch tree painted by Strindberg also sold for way over the estimate.
There were six bids over the SEK one-million mark, putting the number of bids exceeding SEK one million at 27 this year.
