The Ingmar Bergman Auction - Historic auction at Bukowskis

On September 28, 2009, personal property of the legendary Swedish theatre director and filmmaker Ingmar Bergman was up for auction at Bukowski’s in Stockholm. The special sale offered personal items from Bergman’s isle of Fårö home.

The Auction viewing and sale attracted a large audience and bidders from all over the world. The 337 lots  for sale were auctioned for a total of SEK 18 million. Two items; the set of wooden chess pieces and a wooden model of the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, were sold for SEK 1 million/ Euro 97.800. Ingmar Bergman´s international fame and importance was of significance, setting the tone of the day, with the Bukowski Auction house placed in worldwide focus.
