Birgitta Liljebladh

In the mid 1950s, after finishing studies at Academy of Arts and School of Arts in Stockholm, Birgitta Liljedahl did several study tours to France, Italy, England and Yugoslavia. In 1954 she got her public break-through with her own exhibition at Galleri Gummesons in Stockholm. Soon after, Birgitta Liljebladh switched gallery to Färg & Form, where she stayed until they closed in the beginning of the 21st century. From the 1960s and forward, Liljebladh worked as a teacher at Valands in Gothenburg and therefore she exhibited her work less often. There was one exception though‚ with an exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1982. The early landscape and still life paintings, which she painted during the 1950s, were later on replaced by her characteristic, exquisite portraits in delicate color schemes. Bukowskis is pleased to present eight art works from Birgitta Liljebladh's fastidious production.
