Jan-Christer Lundqvist Collection

In Memory of Jan-Christer Lundqvist
1944 – 2022

Jan-Christer Lundqvist was a passionate gold- and silversmith as well as an artist. He was born in Sörbygden, Jämtland, grew up in Falköping, and spent most of his life in Skövde – where he started a family, created art, and ran his own workshop and store.

With an eye for detail and a soul that burned for beauty and authenticity, he was honoured several times for his skilled craftsmanship and design. He participated in many Nordic competitions, where he received both awards and honourable mentions. His artwork has been exhibited at prominent museums in Sweden, including the Swedish History Museum in Stockholm, the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, and Malmö Museum.

Jan-Christer drew his inspiration from nature – from the stillness of the mountains, where he found harmony with a fly rod in hand, to the rugged cliffs of Bohuslän. His love for the landscapes and the natural world was reflected in both his jewellery and his paintings.

He lived for his craft.
