The handy chair Tip Ton was designed in 2011 by the designer duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby and is produced by the Swiss furniture company Vitra. The name Tip Ton refers to one of the furniture’s features: the chair can be tilted forward a few degrees to increase ergonomic posture. The design is based on a 2010 study by ETH Zürich, which confirmed that a forward-leaning sitting position increased muscle activity and oxygen supply in the body. The furniture is made of polypropylene and manufactured from a single mould, which makes it extremely durable, and 100 % recyclable. The chair can be used outdoors in the summer and stacks up to four chairs high when not in use. Due to its features, Tip Ton is ideal both as an office chair and a dining chair.
