Helsinki Today - Contemporary Art: Maria Jauhiainen

We are happy to present some of Maria Jauhiainen's unique jewellery at Helsinki Today - Contemporary Art! Maria Jauhiainen is known for her unique jewellery and she has been working independently since she graduated from London's Royal College of Arts in 2000. Her work is displayed at some of the most prestigious museums in the world, including MoMA, Victoria & Albert Museum in London and Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.

There are many internationally successful Finnish jewellery designers and it is an honour to present some of their works here at Bukowskis, says Nina Westerlund, specialist jewellery.

Shapes and structures in nature inspire me. The veins of a leaf transport water and important nutritients to all parts of it, and the plant thrives as it produces oxygen. To me this is a beautiful image of the world's continuous change, says artist Maria jauhiainen.
