The stylish dining table Kaari, designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for the Finnish furniture company Artek, was presented for the first time at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2015. The table was the first object to be designed for Artek by the designer duo, a collaboration that resulted in a whole series of Kaari-furniture. In Finnish, Kaari means “arch”, which reflects the collection’s signature, a bent steel band in the shape of an arc, here visible in the base. During the design process of the table, it became apparent that the base, with its vertically bent wood and bent steel, could be used for shelves and brackets. Hence, an entire collection with the silhouette of the arch-shaped steel structure emerged. Strikingly contemporary in combination with traditional materials, the Kaari table promises stability and longevity. The eye-catching table is therefore suitable for both private and public spheres.
The dining table comes with a base in black painted steel and oak along with a table top in laminate.
