The Aquanaut was released in 1997. Patek Philippe made no secret that it had been created for a new and younger sporty clientele - the first ever sports watch designed by the brand itself. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Aquanaut, Patek Philippe introduced ref. 5167.
