The Piaget Polo debuted in 1979, conceived by Yves Piaget as the maison’s luxury sports watch for the American market amid the Quartz Crisis. Piaget’s answer to the era’s sport-chic icons was radically jewelry-forward: a fully integrated solid-gold design whose horizontal gadroons run seamlessly from bracelet to case and across the dial. Built around ultra-thin quartz know-how, it combined everyday practicality with high goldsmithing. Today the Polo stands as a design icon, reaffirmed by modern revivals and prized in early all-gold executions.
