A year after the success of the ref. 5060 among Patek Philippe’s existing clientele, the brand expanded its Aquanaut collection with the introduction of three new references: the 5064, 5065, and 5066. Each brought a unique evolution to the line. The 5064 featured a practical quartz movement, while the 5066 retained the dimensions of its predecessor but introduced an open caseback. Meanwhile, the 5065 offered a larger 38mm case, earning it the nickname “Jumbo” Aquanaut.
Among these, the 5065 and 5066 stand out as quintessential examples of the neo-vintage Aquanaut. Both references shared the upgrade of a sapphire caseback, a feature absent in the original 5060. Produced between 1998 and 2006, this model remains highly sought-after by collectors for its balance of classic design and modern refinement. This 5066 was sold in 2006.
