Worn contemporary half vellum, later handwritten label across spine, marbled paper partly perished, rear board cracked and with crude modern repair to verso, worn endpapers, frontispiece loose, worn and wormed, bookplate ”Bibliothek der Carsleburg” on pastedown and title, and round stamp of ”Bibliotheca Erba Odescalchi”.
Emperor Leopold I was of great importane to the Odescalchi family, granting Livio Odescalchi (nephew of Innocentius XI Odescalchi) several honors and properties after the victory against the Ottomans at the Battle of Vienna in 1683, among them Ilok Castle, the title of the Duke of Syrmia and the dignity of prince of the Holy Roman Empire.
