With the motto of the order of St Patrick 'Deo duce, ferro coomitanti'. Diameter 24,5 cm.

Provenance

Comissioned for James Caulfield, Earl of Charlemont (1728-1799). He became a Knight of St Patrick in 1779. The rim is encircled by the chain of the order.
