A patinated, ormolu, and marble French Empire figural mantel clock, early 19th century.

"L'étude de l'astronomie". After the model by Jean-André Reiche. Modelled as Urania, the muse of astronomy, studying a celestial globe surrounded by attributes representing the sciences. The white enamel dial with roman numerals above a square verde antico plinth resting on bell-shaped feet. Length 30, width 11, height 37 cm. Pendulum included.
