Eskil Nordell, born 28 June 1921 in Boxholm, was a visual artist, draughtsman and graphic artist. Nordell first worked as a building painter, but in his spare time he pursued self-studies in painting. During study trips to Norway, France and Italy, among other places, he developed his distinctive interpretation of naive painting. Nordell made his debut with a first exhibition in Norrköping in 1952, followed by solo exhibitions at Gummesons konsthall in 1953, Kalmar Museum and Jönköping Museum in 1955. Eskil Nordell's art consists of still lifes, portraits and landscapes from Boxholm, Lofoten and abroad executed in oil, pastel, gouache or woodcut. Represented: Östergötland Museum, Norrköping Art Museum, Linköping and Kalmar.
