Provenance

The Paul R. Wedendal Collection.

Acquired by Dir. Hellberg of Menhammar Hall in Germany in the 1920's. Dir Hellberg was the owner of the Restaurant Bäckahästen, where the scuplture was placed for many years. Then sold at auction at Beijer Auktioner, Stockholm to the Mr Paul R. Wedendal.

According to a written statement by Ph. Dr. Professor, Ex Director of the Museum of far Eastern Antiquities in Stockholm, Bo Gyllensvärd, dated 12/2 1997, the horse is from the early part of the Ming Dynasty (15th/16th Century).
