More information

Under 1940- och -50-talen gjorde Rodhe flera resor som kom att få stor betydelse för hans konstnärskap. I Paris 1947 influerades han bland annat av en utställning på det etnografiska museet. Där såg Rhode de så kallade shoowa-textilierna från det gamla Kubariket i Afrika som visade en flerhundraårig geometrisk bildtradition. Under denna vistelse fick han också se en svit fotografier av Germaine Krull som visade Eiffeltornet underifrån, som bildade en geometrisk indelning. Dessa båda upplevelser av geometriska former inspirerade Rodhe till att börja använda sig av trianglar som ett tema. Hemma i Sverige igen utförde han flera verk på detta tema.
