Eva Wolgers' creations are ambiguous and playful; it is not easy to navigate her enticing yet eerie landscapes. Just when one recognizes something familiar, a flower, a hollowed-out tree trunk, or the well-known structure of moss, something happens. A cavity reveals itself on the surface, drawing us inward and reminding us of the apparent nature of things, of a reality that can contain far more dimensions than one initially suspects.
Eva Wolgers, educated at Gerlesborgsskolan and Konsthögskolan in Stockholm, has exhibited at several galleries in Stockholm and abroad.
