The catalogue for this spring’s internationally renowned hammer auction with exclusive watches is here: Important Timepieces. The selection is carefully curated and hand picked by Bukowskis watch experts to present an unique selection of timeless watches, collector’s items, dress watches and watches with exciting provenances. We have spoken to Bukowskis watch expert Nina Westerlund about the items in this spring’s hammer auction that take place April 19th:
Which are your four personal favorites among the watches at Important Timepieces?
25 Heuer, chronograph.
A beautiful vintage chronograph from 1948 with the legend Valjoux 72 caliber. Heuer was founded in 1860 and the company has contributed a great lot to the watch industry and their development of watches can not be underestimated.
41 Omega, Railmaster.
Maybe the most infamous one of the Omega trilogy from 1957 (Speedmaster, Seamaster and Railmaster). The watch is designed by scientists and can stand radiation from magnetic fields. It has a simple design without extra functions.
57 Patek Philippe, Calatrava.
A good example of a watch that combines timeless elegance with fantastic quality. The watch is fitting in any situation, both for men and women.
75 Rolex, Explorer, ’Gilt dial’.
Already the name ”Explorer” says it all; developed for explorers and adventurers with the goal to aim for a high precision, durability and dependability.
If you want to start purchasing watches at auction, what should I have in mind?
A watch purchased at an auction can give good use and joy in several years and can also be a really good investment. Have in mind that it should fit your own personal style and choose a watch made from an established brand.
Why have you chosen to profile yourself within watches?
I am a goldsmith from the beginning and I have also been fascinated by watches precision in the craftsmanship and by the impeccable fine-mechanics in clockworks. Watches combines aesthetic with technique.
