Swedish Style and Standard

Swedish style and standard – a collection of Swedish 1930s-40s furniture and furnishings with an aesthetic that spans between the style ideal Funkis and Swedish Grace.

From the early 1930s functionalist program statement, where the goal was to create a good environment for modern man, an art industry and furniture production gradually emerged where series production made the program statement from the Stockholm exhibition not only a theory but a reality for more and more people. During the 1930s and 1940s, homes and furnishings were created that were adapted to the modern way of life and living.

The objects in this theme auction well represent the interior design that came to prevail in the Swedish folk home.
