A bronze figure of a seated Buddha, late Ming dynasty (1368-1644).
The figure is shown seated in padmasana, with hands in bhumisparsa mudra. A shawl worn over the shoulders frames a wan symbol in the center of the chest, and has stylized scroll borders, while the top of the dhoti tied above the waist is patterned. The face is cast with peaceful features below hair dressed in curls that surround the usnisa.Height 22,5 cm.

Present owners grandfather, General Leonid Lukjanov of the Imperial Russian Regement, acquired this lot presumably in Manchuria in the 1920´s.
