A RUG, an antique/semi-antique silk Kashan Souf, probably Motachem, ca 112,5 x 100-93 cm.

(as well as at the top 1½ cm flat weave). A silver brocaded ground with a large knotted pattern of a flower urn with palmettes and flowers as well as a frame work with a niche and stylized vines. A dark bluish brown main border with palmette and arabesque vines as well as a cartouche with an inscription: Mobarak Bashad = Congratulations, a work of Ali-Reza. Probably a wedding present. The silk warp threads are in several colours.

Some wear, dirty, minor stains, slightly faded, insignificant damages, some of the silver threads are damaged. The lower end has minor damages, repairs and fold wear as well as a few rows of knots missing.
