AN ANTIQUE VELVET EMBROIDERY, Persia/Iran, around 1700 - the middle of the 19th century, ca 100 x 142,5 cm (plus a 5 cm
later ribbon around the the edges). Probably a Poshti. Red velvet with appliqué works and embroideries in gold and silver threads as well as polychrome silk. A decor of medallions with inscriptions, birds, flowers and vines. The inscriptions: two with Mobarak bashad (Congratulations), the central medallion: Who leans towards (?) is the sun. Later lining. Probably a wedding present.
Some wear, slightly dirty, stains, repairs, minor damages.
