Muut tiedot

’Bapo’ , can be translated to ’eight brokens’, an artistic image emerging in China in the mid 19th century. The number eight in Chinese culture is a lucky number and typically represents good fortune in chinese works of arts. This type of decoration often includes fragments of calligraphy, and refers to the damaged ephemera hyper-realistically depicted in decorations, torn book pages, destroyed paintings, damaged calligraphies, arranged in a collage-like composition, distincting itself from the traditional classical Chinese decoration.
