Alkuperä - Provenienssi

The Gustavian Opera House, often called Gustav III's Opera or just the Old Opera. It was situated at Gustav Adolf's square, on the same place as the present Royal Opera House. The architect was the well-known Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz, who previously designed the Drottningholm Palace Theater. The Gustavian Opera House was inaugurated in 1782. It was there Gustav III was murdered on March 16, 1792. The Gustavian opera was demolished in 1892 to make room for today's opera house. With the demolition, loose décor pieces came out on the market and rarely occur at auction.
The wall-sconces have been inherited in a Swedish private family.
