MATTO, an antique/semi-antique Ningxia probably, China, ca 492,5-494,5 x 388-389,5 cm.

A reddish brown ground with a large polychrome peony medallion surrounded by blooming branches and butterflies. Corner ornaments with large peonies. A light camel hair coloured main border with a large peony vine. Four secondary borders.

Faded areas. Little partly harder wear, slightly dirty, stains, colour run areas, repairs, reknotted areas. The sides and ends have fold wear, one end has wear.
