MATTO, semi-antique Kashan figural, so called Motachem, ca 205,5 x 140,5 cm.
An ivory ground with a polychrome landscape with figure scenes: the king Bahram greets a shepherd with animals by a river, a woman looks for the king Bahram, the king Bahram hunts. A dark blue main border with flowers and large ivory cartouches with inscriptions. Dark blue secondary borders with red cartouches with inscriptions. The inscriptions show tributes to the king.
Abrashes. Little wear, dirty stains, slightly stiff, minor mothdamages. The sides have minor tears, the ends have a few of rows of knots missing and insignificant damages, later fringes.
