Med en elegant och banbrytande design som frångick det traditionella skapades den karaktäristiska timglasformade boettformen som givit modellen smeknamnet ”the hour glass”. Samtliga av dessa boetter tillverkades av den prominenta boettmakaren Markowsky.
Referensen lanserades 1944 och tillverkades fram till 1967, den totala produktionen uppskattas till cirka 1000-klockor. Majoriteten av dessa producerades i gult guld men ett litet antal tillverkades i roséguld. Vad som utmärker auktionens referens 1593 är dess fantastiska skick, att den är i roséguld samt att den är tillverkad utan sekundvisare. Endast en handfull 1593 utan sekundvisare har förekommit på auktionsmarknaden fram till idag.
