"Grotto, The Real World", is the fourth grotto painting in the larger hyper work "She in Four Acts", the central part of the painting, has the same proportions as the original painting "The Virgin of the Rocks" by Leonardo da Vinci. It is also closer in color, the previous "Grottos" for the other acts in "She in Four Acts" are more monchrome, depending on the theme of the act. But "Grotto, The Real World" is closer to reality, the real world, and the palette of Leonardo. All the grotto paintings are related to "Indicator", an earlier work, a paraphrase of a particular part of "The Virgin of the Rocks", the face of the angel, a motive the artist had repeteadly worked with since her infance.
