Muut tiedot

Auktionens medaljong har en separat ram av trä, något som sällan förekommer på Sergels medaljonger. Vanligtvis är ram och medaljong gjutna som en enhet i gips. Bildhuggaren Pehr Ljungs (1743-1819) räkenskapsbok finns bevarad för åren 1779-1782 och där framkommer att Segel vid ett flertal tillfällen beställde ramar från Ljung. I maj 1781 beställs bl a: "1 dito ornerad [rund ram med ornerade lister] utan bandros till at giuta uppå".
Av detta kan man sluta sig till att Sergel ej själv skulpterade sina ramar utan att dessa kom från Ljungs verkstad.
