During the 2022 service, the watch was polished, which resulted in the original case number no longer being legible. The number was re-engraved by Jaeger-LeCoultre on the inside of the case back as part of the service. The dial shows patina. The case and case back display some areas of pores.

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, Bukowskis does not guarantee the future function of the movement. Please note that the movement has not been tested for timekeeping accuracy and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Watches have been opened to examine movements therefore no warranties are made that the watches are water-resistant. Potential buyers should inspect each watch to satisfy themselves as to condition. Muut tiedot

Produced in limited numbers, the reference E2643 was Jaeger-LeCoultre’s response to the rising demand for sport chronographs. Marketed as the “Shark Deep Sea” in the U.S. and the “Vogue Chronograph” in Europe, the dial signature differs by market, either “LeCoultre” or “Jaeger-LeCoultre.” Its robust 40 mm steel case, with bold lugs and sharp geometry, came with one of three rotating bezels, GMT, Diving, or World Timer.

Powered by the legendary Valjoux 72, this is one of the few vintage JLC chronographs not using an in-house movement. The case design was also generic and shared with other brands of the era. Despite its distinctive looks and technical quality, the model saw limited commercial success and was discontinued after a short production run, making it a rare find today. This example was fully serviced by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 2022.
