Muut tiedot

This should be the first model, no. 1 of the camé vases, manufactured as early as 1933. It was not until later, in 1935, that Tyra Lundgren was contacted by the Kosta glassworks for a collaboration. At that time, she was in Paris and had to send sketches from there. The motifs, which consisted of nude women, birds, and fish, came to decorate bowls and vases in blue, brown, green, and clear glass. The glass came to be called "Camé" thanks to the powerful and high relief in which the motifs were rendered. The glass was both sandblasted and polished to achieve the desired effect, a technique referred to as the "Kosta method" in the glassworks' advertisements. By 1936, Tyra Lundgren had already left Kosta, which led to production becoming small-scale and today rare. It is still unclear who designed camé no. 1.
