a rare spherical modernist pewter vase, Ystad-Metall, Sweden, 1932.
Spherical, loose insert with a flat flared rim, stamped W.N with company mark and year stamp F8. Height 27.5 cm.
The top of the flat rim with engraved monogram and inscription "FRÅN KAMRATERNA" 6/10 1934. Minor wear and insignificant dents.

A rare model, reportedly only a few vases of this model were executed in pewter.
Wiwen Nilsson and Ystad-Metall exhibited together at the Bygge och Bo exhibition at Kulturen in Lund in 1931. The collaboration lasted for a short period in the early 1930s. In 1933, the exhibition "Tenn och Brons" (Pewter and Bronze) was held at Nordiska Kompaniet, where several of the leading Swedish companies showcased their items in these materials. Here, Wiwen Nilsson's name is mentioned as one of the designers at Ystad-Metall alongside Oscar Antonsson. The exhibition at Nordiska Kompaniet was the only time Wiwen Nilsson's name was mentioned in connection with Ystad-Metall's production. The present model was shown at the exhibition made in bronze, with the addition of three engraved horizontal lines on the body. Pewter works executed after Wiwen Nilsson's designs were considered special works and did not belong to the regular production at Ystad-Metall.
