Tyra Lundgren was invited in 1936 by Paolo Venini to Venice and Murano to become the first woman to design glass at the Venini company. Tyra Lundgren went on to work alongside the most skilled glassblowers and became an important person in the development of their production. Tyra regurarly returned to Venini up until the 1950s, with the exception of the war years.
