"Knipor"
Signed B. Liljefors. Probably executed between 1920-1925. A letter from the son Lindorm Liljefors accompanies this lot. Oil on canvas 44.5 x 47 cm.

Aquired directly from the artist in 1935 by Dr. Gösta Renck (1894 - 1955), Norrköping (see letter).
By descent to estate manager Hans-Jörgen Renck (1921 - 2005), Norrköping.
Sold through H. Bukowskis Konsthandel, Stockholm, private sale in 1958.

Doctor Gösta Renck,
The undersigned would hereby respectfully like to thank you for xxx kr, which I have today received by post giro, and which amount constitutes full payment for my father's painting "Knipor".
Neither I nor my father can say for certain in which year the painting was made. However, it is probably during the period 1920 - 1925. I have a study by my father of two dead hanging teal signed 1924, and your painting is likely from about the same time.
