There, Ulf Hård af Segerstad is quoted in the daily paper Svenska Dagbladet as having described John Kandell's interiors in positive terms in 1958 as being very representative of a new era: "Consistent and well-tuned with the architecture, John Kandell's interiors in pine and oak are industrially rational and strictly architectural, albeit just as rustic and 'square' as the late 1950s fashion seems to prescribe."
Muut tiedot
The City of Stockholm announced an architectural competition in 1939-1940 for a joint archive to be built on Kungsklippan. Gunnar Asplund won the competition with the entry Nec spe nec metu (Without either hope or fear). However, Gunnar Asplund passed away before the work commenced in 1940. Sven Ivar Lind, Asplund's close collaborator, was tasked with completing the project. The storage facilities were inaugurated in 1943, but due to the war, the construction of the administrative floors was delayed. They were completed in 1959. John Kandell contributed parts of the interior and furniture.
