Malmö Strumpfabrik was the first in the country to manufacture natural silk stockings, which were introduced to the market in 1932. In 1933, Victor Samuelson's Tricotfabrik in Mölndal was purchased, and the Malmö factory would now exclusively produce silk stockings, while other types of stockings would be made in Mölndal. After a competition among the staff, the name NIVELLA emerged, which was launched as a brand in 1932. In 1934, the next brand, VOGUE, was introduced, named after the French fashion magazine. The first nylon stockings were sold to the public in the USA in 1940, and the news became a sensation in the industry. Malmö Strumpfabrik launched its variant in 1944, priced at 8:40 per pair, which corresponded to half a day's wage.
