A Swedish carved rococo sofa by A. Thunberg (master in Stockholm 1756-91)
Painted in blue-green with bronzed details. Openwork back with curved asymmetrical balusters, richly carved decoration of shell formations, rocailles, and floral branches against a partially pockmarked ground, volute-curved armrests transitioning into the apron, on six cabriole legs. Signed ATB. Length 160, seat height 47, back height 111 cm.
