A pair of Swedish 18th century silver sugar bowls, marks of Henrik Wittkopf the younger and Pehr Zethelius, Stockholm.

Oval model on four baluster legs, pair of handles, band decoration along the edge, cover with flowering rose branch, profiled tray with band decoration.
One by the master Henrik Wittkopf the Younger, Stockholm 1764 marked 49 1/2 lod and DH. The other, as well as both trays, by the master Pehr Zethelius, Stockholm 1774 marked 47 7/8 [lod] and the trays 20 3/4 and 20 [lod].
Measurements (including trays), height approx. 12.5 cm, length 20 cm. Total weight approx. 1800 g.

Alkuperä - Provenienssi

David Henrik Hildebrand (1712-1791) Recorded in his estate inventory among the silver at the Stockholm residence Rosenbad 12&14: "1 sugar bowl with lid and plate 67 3/4 [lod], as well as "1 Do with Do - - - 69 1/2 [lod]" the latter referring to the bowl by Wittkopf. Hildebrand was able "through prudent management of his inherited properties to acquire several estates and landed properties and became one of the wealthiest in Sweden of his time." He established the entailments of Ericsberg, Bystad, and Fållnäs (Elgenstierna). Subsequently inherited by his grandson, Baron Knut Henrik Bonde of Fållnäs. Remaining there until they were sold at Bukowskis' Christmas Auction in 1925 A253 after Hans von Horn of Fållnäs, catalogue numbers 411 and 412.
