Muut tiedot

The auction's painting is from the eastern shore of the Ångerman River, near Fanby and Berg. On the opposite side, Rödskäggsnipan can be seen with its sand-covered shape, while the mountains Borgen and Svalnipan form the backdrop. The foreground is dominated by autumn-coloured deciduous trees, and the sky is reflected in the river in muted shades of blue and turquoise. Osslund often worked in the autumn when the light changed rapidly and the colours shifted intensely. His landscape depictions are not merely documentary but explore how terrain and water affect light and colour over time. Locations along the Ångerman River, Sollefteå, Granvåg, Forsmo, Näsåker served as his artistic field, where cliffs and sandbanks recur as simplified forms with nuanced colouration. The painting is executed during a period when Osslund depicts the river valley under various lighting conditions.
