Huang Gang (born 1961 in Beijing) is a Chinese contemporary artist who was educated at and later worked as a teacher at the Central Academy of Arts and Design. He works with abstract painting in which he combines Chinese tradition and calligraphy with Western modes of expression.
He has exhibited internationally since the late 1990s, with solo exhibitions and participation in art fairs in cities including Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, Paris, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Geneva. He has shown work at venues such as Ming Art Gallery (Taipei and Singapore), Asia Art Center (Taipei and Beijing), JGM Gallery (Paris), and Anna Ning Fine Art (Hong Kong), and has participated in major art fairs including the Beijing Art Fair, Korea International Art Fair, and the New York Art Fair.
His work is characterized by experimental techniques and a focus on space, energy, and cosmological ideas.
