Muut tiedot

A highly unusual Omega Seamaster, ref. 2301.21.00, fitted with a misprinted dial bearing “Speedmaster” instead of the correct “Seamaster” designation. The watch dates from the late 1990s (although sold in 2004) and is powered by Omega’s automatic caliber 1109, which was used on early reference 2301.21.00.

The misprint is known from a small number of examples of the model and is believed to have occurred during production, when a batch of Seamaster dials was printed with the Speedmaster designation. Some of these dials are believed to have been fitted to completed watches before the error was discovered. Most are subsequently reported to have had their dials replaced, making surviving examples retaining the original misprinted dial exceptionally rare. The phenomenon is documented on the auction market and across various watch forums.
