Tuulikki Pietilä came to Halmstad as a young woman, among other reasons to help Finnish war children. She became good friends with the Johansson family, who ran the Art Salon in Halmstad. Her exhibitions were held there, and Tove was often present, sitting and drawing as well as sketching and signing in her books that were sold at the exhibitions. The drawing for the auction was created then.
