"Diamonds Are Forever is a spy thriller from 1971, the seventh film in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions. It is the sixth and final Eon film featuring Sean Connery in the lead role, who returned to portray the fictional MI6 agent James Bond after having declined to reprise his role in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969).

The film is based on Ian Fleming's novel of the same name from 1956 and is the second of four James Bond films directed by Guy Hamilton. The story sees Bond posing as a diamond smuggler to infiltrate a smuggling ring and soon uncover a plot by his old nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld to use the diamonds to build a space-based laser weapon. Bond must confront his enemy one last time to stop the smuggling and Blofeld's plan to destroy Washington, D.C. and extort the world with nuclear supremacy."
