Body in spruce and maple. Neck in maple with a fingerboard in black-stained pearwood. 10-stringed with 16 frets. Carved soundhole rosette. The top marked "Jignaz Mettal Schönbach". The nut measures 4.5 cm. Length 121, width 34.5, height 12.5 cm. A fabric case is included.
Cracks in the lid. Marks and nicks. Strings are missing. "String pins" are missing. Rattles, not fully gone through.
Josef Holeček (1939–2025) was a Czech-Swedish guitarist, professor, and composer active in Gothenburg. He gave solo concerts in several countries across Europe as well as in the USA and Australia. He has participated in several recordings such as Britten / Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1976), Romantic Guitar Music (1982/1995),
Ignaz Mettal (c. 1880–1950) was an influential German-Czech instrument maker in Schönbach, father of the renowned master builder Franz Mettal. He laid the foundation for the family's reputation through his craftsmanship in the early 20th century.
