Many have, with great interest and keen enthusiasm, immersed themselves in Anders Zorn’s numerous etchings. Some have gone a step further and acquired one or more of these highly coveted prints themselves—at times with more thematic intentions behind their purchases, or, as in this somewhat larger private collection from southern Sweden, with the aim of assembling a selection representing all of Zorn’s categories. This ranges from portraits of friends and patrons, the inevitable self-portraits, to works created for art publications, genre scenes, and studies of models. The works span from the early 1890s through to his final etchings of 1919.
